Unfrequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I have to prepare anything to use the audio?
A: The audio is fully instructional. Everything you need to know and do is explained in the audio itself. As long as you can lie on your back and breathe you can do the meditation. Just follow the instructions and everything will be fine.
Q: Will the meditation make me relax?
A: The meditation should make you relax but it is intended to do more than that. However the best approach to take to the audio is to come to it with no preconceptions of what will happen or what you will get from the experience.
Q: Then what is the best attitude to take?
A: Ideally an open mind. We are very goal oriented and want everything we do to have a specific purpose or immediate result. That's not the best attitude to take into a meditation session. It's better to have no aim other than to let yourself take part fully in the meditation. Allow the experience to happen without concentrating on what you will achieve by doing it. In other words don't try too hard. In fact, don't try at all – less effort, more result.
Q: Will I feel changed after doing it?
A: Some people may feel changes to their mind and body after one session, but others may need several times before they sense a change in themselves. Meditation needs to be learned, like swimming or riding a bike. Some of us are fast learners, and others need more time. Be patient, don't be insistent on immediate change. Inner change is a lifetime's work.
Q: How often should I meditate?
A: As often as you feel the need. Ideally every day if you have the time, 3 or 4 times a week if you don't. You can always do a shorter meditation if you don't have time for the entire audio. Meditation has a cumulative effect, so the more you do, the more your mind and body become accustomed to the process. It starts to become habitual and feels more natural than when you first start.
Q: How will the audio help my financial situation?
A: The audio is designed to relax you and to expand your consciousness. In the resulting calm state it is easier to deal with anxiety and to find solutions to problems. Fear and anxiety make us contract into ourselves, and we freeze in the face of our difficulties. The meditation can help you find a new perspective on your life and your problems, and this new approach can allow you to either find new solutions or to accept your situation as it stands, and so deal with it.
Q: I don't have financial problems. What will the audio do for me?
A: Although the audio has been designed for people suffering financial stress, it is an effective tool for stress relief of all kinds. Meditation has healthy effects on the nervous system and the heart as well as on the mind, and anyone can get something useful from it.
